  1. J.J. LIGHT was actually Jim 'James' Stallings, who played bass with the SIR DOUGLAS QUINTET from Mendocino onwards. The status of his LP, produced by Bob Markley of the WCPAEB, has always been a little murky, the main reason being that it was never released in the US.
  2. J.J. Light - Heya! (). Индейцы! Индейцы! Испуганные колонисты, летящие стрелы, гордые Чингачгуки в боевой раскраске и смуглые скво, чудная куперовщина-майнридовщина из безмятежного детства, в котором кино-телеподвиги Гойко.
  3. The opening rocker 'Na Ru Ka' bares an uncanny resemblance to something from Tjinder Singh and Cornershop (though it was penned some three decades earlier). Elsewhere, to my ears there's no Dylan comparison (good thing), rather Light occasionally recalls a young Arlo Guthrie, albeit with a rock-ish edge ('Silently Sleeping').
  4. Heya, an Album by J.J. Light. Released in on Liberty (catalog no. LBS 1; Vinyl LP). Genres: Singer/Songwriter, Psychedelic Rock, Rock.
  5. J.J. Light is better known as Jim Stallings, sometime bassist with the Sir Douglas Quintet. In the summer of , "Heya" -- a hypnotic song with a distinctive Native American flavor -- took much of Europe by storm, reaching audiences as far afield as Japan, South America and New Zealand/5(5).
  6. J.J. Light scored an international hit single with 's "Heya," and the album of the same title sold respectably in Europe, Scandinavia, and South America, but for some reason the LP was never released in the United States, and a follow-up recorded later the same year was never released at all; Stallings became a member of Doug Sahm's Sir.
